- Founded in 1976 Data Technology Ltd. was the first Value Added Reseller, Distributor and Third Party Maintenance company for hand held data collection terminals in Canada.
- In 1984 Data Technology became Telxon's first Value Added Reseller in Canada, and was authorized to provide maintenance and support for all Telxon products.
- In 1992 Data Technology Ltd. introduced and installed the first Radio Beacon warehouse management systems.
- In 1996 Data Technology Ltd. was selected as the first authorized Telxon Distributor in North America.
- In 1999 Data Technology Ltd. was named a Platinum Partner of Radio Beacon.
- In 2000 Data Technology Ltd., established a partnership with AccPac, as a solutions integrator.
- In 2004 Data Technology formed a relationship with PCS Inc. a global provider of data collection products and services. As PSC's primary supplier in the Canadian marketplace Datatek will compliment PCS's 30 years of leadership in the barcode products industry
